Singing in Belgium

These three Flemish cities will astound you by their architecture and cultural diversity. You will be singing in a well known church. The highlights of your stay include seeing the Rubens House in Antwerp, a cruise in the “beguinage” district in Bruges known as “Little Venice” due to its 10 kilometers of canals and medieval architecture and the main square “grand place” in Brussels. If Brussels can be visited by coach, Antwerp and Bruges can be visited on foot.

Program 4 days / 3 nights

Day 1 – BRUSSELS

Arrival in Brussels at the end of the morning. Check in at hotel.
Panoramic city tour: the Grand Place and the Town Hall, the Brussels City Museum, the Saint-Michel Cathedral, the elegant Sablon district with its old buildings and its flamboyant church , The Royal Palace, the Palace of Justice and the House of Parliament, the European Quarter.
After the tour, you can stop in a brasserie on the Grand Place to taste the delicious Belgian beers and visit the famous Manneken-Pis.
Dinner and overnight.

 

Day 2 – BRUSSELS – ANTWERP – BRUSSELS

Breakfast at hotel.

On the way to Antwerp there will be a guided tour of the city centre with its huge cathedral and magnificent tower & many Rubens paintings.
Visit the superb Rubens house with its luxurious Flemish styled rooms and see the Masters workshop. Or the Plantin Moretus Museum, located in a 16th century printing house. The museum allows you to follow the whole process of creating a book at this time and contains a fine collection of prints and antique books as well as furniture, wall tapestries, coverings in brocaded damask and gold leathers, works by Rubens…

Free time for lunch.
Afternoon, concert in the Church of Saint Charles Borromeo or similar. (Subject to availability).
Return late afternoon to Brussels.
Dinner and accommodation.

 

Day 3 – BRUSSELS – BRUGES – BRUSSELS

Breakfast at hotel.

Morning, excursion to Bruges the home of Flemish art. Boat trip on the canals in the “Little Venice”. Then, free time to visit the historical centre with the Grand Place, the belfry, market halls, the Basilica of the Holy Blood, the Maison Dieu, the museum of the former “Franc” Palace as well as the hotel of Ville and the museums of painters Groningen and Memling.
Free time for lunch.
Return in late afternoon to Brussels.
Dinner. Overnight.

 

Day 4 – BRUSSELS – back home

Breakfast at hotel.
If you go on Sunday, we offer you the possibility of singing during a religious service in a Church as per the cathedral of Saints-Michel-et-Gudule (Sunday) or similar.
End of our services and back home.
